There’s so much going on at the minute I find it really difficult to prioritise the right things, what I do know is that family comes first, since Christmas I’ve struggled to get back to social media because I know the time that it takes you take away from your family and right now I’m really focussing on being an active parent and spending time with the kids is my top priority.

that doesn’t mean I haven’t been focused on the other stuff. My business has ticking along, my fitness is on point and I’m 9 kg down from where I was in October and I’m studying in the evenings so the social media is taking a hit.

I’m gonna try my best to refocus without destabilising the other stuff, the things I’ve been valuing the most.

What is progressive overload?

Progressive overload is one of the simplest concepts in training… and one I really wish I understood sooner.

In plain terms, it just means doing a little more over time.

That could be:

• One extra rep
• A small increase in weight
• Better control and form
• Shorter rest times

Your body only adapts when it’s challenged. If you lift the same weight, for the same reps, week after week… your progress will stall.

The benefits?

• Builds strength and muscle consistently
• Prevents plateaus
• Gives your training a clear structure
• Keeps progress measurable and motivating

If you’re new to the gym, keep it simple:

1: Pick a weight you can control for 6–8 reps
2: Aim to add 1 rep next session
3: When you hit the top of the range, increase the weight slightly
4: Repeat and be patient

No ego lifting. No rushing. Just small wins stacked over time.

This isn’t about doing more for the sake of it and damaging your form and pulling a muscle, it’s about doing slightly better than last time.
